If your dog's belly is very hot, it may be because he has a fever, or he may have just finished exercising, so his belly feels hot to the touch. Of course, it is not ruled out that this is a normal phenomenon, because the dog's body temperature is higher than that of humans, so the dog's belly will feel very hot when you touch it with your hands. It is recommended that the owner first measure the dog's temperature to see if it is normal. If there is a fever, the dog can be physically cooled and taken to the pet hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

1. Normal phenomenon

It may be normal for a dog’s belly to be hot. Because the dog’s temperature is higher than the normal temperature for humans, the dog’s belly will naturally feel very hot when measured by human touch. , especially puppies, the body temperature will be higher. If you are really worried, you can also use a thermometer to measure your dog's body temperature. When measuring, you need to clip the thermometer to your dog's groin. As long as the measured temperature is lower than 39 degrees Celsius, it is normal, so don't worry too much.

2. Just after exercise

Because dogs have few sweat glands and weak heat dissipation capabilities, their bodies will be hotter after exercise, which is also normal. The owner can give the dog some cold water and take the dog to a cooler place to cool down, so that the dog can rest for a while and recover slowly.

3. Fever

If it is ruled out that the dog’s belly is very hot because it has just finished exercising, and it is also accompanied by abnormalities in appetite and mental aspects, such as lying on its stomach and not liking to move, etc. , maybe it’s a fever. It is recommended to measure the dog's body temperature. The dog's normal body temperature is generally between 38-39 degrees. If it is too different from the normal body temperature, the dog needs to be taken to the pet hospital for treatment as soon as possible to avoid deterioration of the condition.
